What this initiative calls for is the return of everyone who has arrived to their respective countries of origin, provided their lives are not at risk, and with humane and respectful treatment. We promote the climate of respect and coexistence that Ceuta has always shown among its citizens, and we want the social and economic development of our city to flourish again.
Our story
Those who died, and those who are sleeping in undignified conditions today, are people — not numbers, and not pawns sent by unscrupulous governments to act against Ceuta.
A Spanish city of around 80,000 inhabitants cannot indefinitely absorb an emergency affecting a proportion of its population on this scale.
Spain, Morocco and the European Union must be held accountable, and it must be established how the situation was allowed to reach this point.
The ultimate goal is to restore public spaces, security, economic activity, public services and community life.
For this reason, the best solution is for all these people to return to their countries of origin, except in humanitarian cases requiring protection, and always with safeguards, assistance and dignified treatment.

Who are we?
An initiative born from the citizens
Por Ceuta began with a simple question: how can I help my city with what I know how to do?
The initiative was launched by Carlos Delgado, born in Cádiz but a Ceutan by adoption for years and a professional in the digital field. While doctors, police officers, the media and many other groups contributed their work, Carlos decided to contribute by creating this space to bring together the voices of those who want to support Ceuta and help it recover calm, coexistence and normality.
But Por Ceuta is not a personal initiative and does not belong to any political party. From the very first moment, many people have joined in and collaborate entirely selflessly: citizens with different ideas, beliefs, professions and ways of understanding life, united by the wish to help Ceuta.

Ceuta Nos Une
A citizen initiative with which we coordinate, without political parties, rallies and communication about Ceuta's situation.
PorCeuta is born from citizens and works for citizens. There are no political labels behind it. Anyone — individual, group or organisation — who shares its aims and wants to contribute constructively is welcome.
Because defending Ceuta, caring for its image and helping to restore its normality is a task in which we can all do our bit.
